We’ve got another few weeks of high-energy astrological energies shaking things up, making (unexpected!) things happen. This probably won’t be a time when most of us experience “Business as usual.” In fact, this can be an emotional time wherein what we consider as “Usual” can be changing all together!
It might be time for many of us to initiate a new approach in some important parts of our lives.*
Anything can happen now – anything. Augusts’ rare astrological energies are about “shifting” or even “jumping” into a new way of seeing ourselves, conducting ourselves, living our lives. What can seem upsetting right now can lead us to some very creative, very inventive solutions. Releasing old expectations or demands about how life should be and jumping into full cooperation with what is might be the wisest way to approach this unusual period of change.
Mars, the planet of action, is transiting the Security-Oriented sign of Cancer. This greatly heightens our Emotional energies and our Instincts for protection. Keep yourself balanced and poised so your emotions can support you, rather than disturb you with reactivity.
Mars in Cancer also heightens our need and resourcefulness to take care of ourselves and our loved ones. This week can bring a special focus to matters of security: home, family, real estate, nurturing, feminine power, and patriotism. Perhaps an issue that began around the July 1st eclipse will take another step forward.
Mars in Cancer also ignites our Inner Child – or the part of ourselves that wants to be taken care of. Beautifully, it also empowers our Inner Parent- the part of ourselves that knows how to take excellent care of ourselves and keep us safe inside – regardless of what is going on in the world.
This is a period when many of us might be called to demonstrate “Wise Parenting” to ourselves. We might be challenged to reach very deep inside our Selves to find that safe, calm place that assures us. This world might seem unstable right now, but there is a very strong place inside of each of us that experiences true stability that comes from being there for ourselves - no matter what.
In other words, nurturing, tenderness, and attunement to what’s really important may be the best strategies this week. To help us with that, Venus the planet of Love is conjunct the Sun - also heightening our ability to be full-hearted, generous, and courageous in love. New alliances and love can begin this week.
